We got back from a wonderful week in California and Nevada. Wine tasting in Napa, Stage 2 finish of the Tour of California in Sacramento and a couple of days in Vegas were the reasons for the trip, and there were several additions that made the trip magical. I was surprised with 2 wonderful days of birding in the Napa Valley region, adding 20+ birds to my list. The Stage 2 finish saw Tom Boonen and Mario Cippollini on the podium with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger presenting the awards. Vegas include viewing the Golden Gate Hotel, built in 1906 as the first hotel in Las Vegas. We also saw a collection of older Neon signs being restored and saved.
